On 16th of July 2021, in the White Hall of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (Šventaragio str. 2, Vilnius), 14 persons, who have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, took the oath of allegiance to the Republic of Lithuania and became citizens of the Republic of Lithuania.

On 8th of July 2021, in the White Hall of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (Šventaragio str. 2, Vilnius), 15 persons, who have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, took the oath of allegiance to the Republic of Lithuania and became citizens of the Republic of Lithuania.

Today, June 21st, the Migration Department accepted first applications to issue e-resident card. Latvian citizens G. Vizulis and M. Vasiljevs, residents of Riga, became the first e-residents. They are Latvian entrepreneurs, who develop their business in Lithuania. 

Migration Department informs that from 21st June 2021 foreigners wishing to make use of the electronic administrative, public or commercial services provided in Lithuania will be able to apply for e-resident status and receive e-resident card with an electronic identification certificate and a qualified electronic signature certificate.

On 20th of May 2021, in the White Hall of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (Šventaragio str. 2, Vilnius), 9 persons, who have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, took the oath of allegiance to the Republic of Lithuania and became citizens of the Republic of Lithuania.

On 22th of April 2021, in the White Hall of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (Šventaragio str. 2, Vilnius), 4 persons, who have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, took the oath of allegiance to the Republic of Lithuania and became citizens of the Republic of Lithuania.

On 18th of march 2021, in the White Hall of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, 9 persons, who have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, took the oath of allegiance to the Republic of Lithuania and became citizens of the Republic of Lithuania.

On 11th of march 2021, in the White Hall of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (Šventaragio str. 2, Vilnius), 11 persons, who have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, took the oath of allegiance to the Republic of Lithuania and became citizens of the Republic of Lithuania.

The Migration Department informs that after the entry into force on 1 March 2021 of amendments to the Law of the Republic of Lithuania “On the Legal Status of Aliens”, an alien may choose when to declare residence in Lithuania - in the Migration Department, when applying for a residence permit or in the eldership, already after collecting a residence permit.

The Migration Department informs that Kaunas Unit is being transferred to the new premises and from the afternoon of the 26th of February of this year the customers will be welcome at A. Juozapavičiaus av. 57, Kaunas. 

The Migration Department informs that from the 1st of March some provisions related to the work of foreigners will change.

The Migration Department informs that on March 1, 2021, after the amendments to the Law “On the Legal Status of Aliens” of the Republic of Lithuania enters into force, a foreigner holding a temporary residence permit issued for a graduate of studies in Lithuania will be able not only to look for a job, but also to start working or start engaging in the activities as a self-employed person. In this case, a foreigner is released from the obligation to obtain a decision of the Employment Service that his/her job meets the needs of the Lithuanian labour market.
