The Migration Department informs that from 16 December 2020 it will serve customers only according to their place of residence. Additional changes to the service procedure have been made in response to the decision of the Government to tighten quarantine conditions and restrict the movement of persons within the country during the holiday period.

On 9th of December 2020, in the White Hall of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (Šventaragio str. 2, Vilnius), 9 persons, who have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, took the oath of allegiance to the Republic of Lithuania and became citizens of the Republic of Lithuania.

On 4 December, the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania has entered into force foreseeing the possibility to issue Lithuanian national visas free of charge to regime-persecuted Belarusians.

On 19th of November 2020, in the White Hall of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (Šventaragio str. 2, Vilnius), 8 persons, who have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, took the oath of allegiance to the Republic of Lithuania and became citizens of the Republic of Lithuania.

Yesterday, Lithuanian Parliament approved the draft amendment to the Law on the Legal Status of Aliens presented by the Ministry of the Interior, which aims to align the provisions of the law with the provisions of the Art. 18.4 of the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement.

The Migration Department informs that during the quarantine announced in the country due to COVID-19 disease, the customer service procedure at the Migration Department will be changed - customers will be served only after booking a visit, some services will not be provided, some customer service points will not work.

The Vilnius Division of the Migration Department is moving to the new premises and as of 28 October, 1 p.m. it will open its door to the visitors at another locations in Vilnius – at 18 Vytenio Street.

Starting from the 1st of September, 2020 services related to collection of documents issued or exchanged for foreigners  i. e. residence permits in the Republic of Lithuania, residence certificates, residence cards for family members of EU citizens, also visas - will be provided only on the basis of preliminary appointments (customers queueing up for collection of the aforementioned documents or visas will not be served).

Starting from the 1st of September Migration Department will introduce new electronic services related to the acquisition of citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania.

We remind you that after the revocation of the quarantine regime in the Republic of Lithuania, the Migration Department granted a tolerance period of 2 months from the end of the quarantine for aliens whose period of legal stay in Lithuania ended when quarantine was announced in Lithuania and who could not leave Lithuania in time due to no fault of their own, as well as for those for whom a decision on their  return has been taken, but the period of voluntary departure ended during the quarantine.

The Migration Department informs that starting from the 1st of August 2020, visitors of the Migration Department over the age of 6 must wear protective measures covering their nose and mouth. We also ask customers not to gather, to observe the distance of at least 1 meter and observe personal hygiene requirements (hand hygiene, coughing, sneezing etiquette, etc.).

On 23th of July 2020, in the White Hall of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania (Sventaragio str. 2, Vilnius), 17 persons, who have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, took the oath of allegiance to the Republic of Lithuania and became citizens of the Republic of Lithuania.
