From 27 December 2023, the Migration Department resumed the provision of all migration services to Lithuanian citizens and foreigners in Kaunas.

The customer service department is temporarily operating at Šv. Gertrūdos str. 4. This is also where the pension department of the Kaunas branch of the State Social Insurance Fund Board is located.

Due to the lack of space, the Kaunas branch of the Migration Department, which is located in temporary premises, is not yet operating at full capacity – a total of 15 customer service desks have been opened. It is predicted that this will allow to serve about 300 Lithuanian citizens and foreigners in one working day.

Before the fire, the customer service department, which worked in the former premises at A Juozapavičiaus pr. 57, served about 600 people a day.

It is expected that the Kaunas branch of the Migration Department will be able to operate at full capacity in January of this year.
