Residence permits can no longer be applied for at the external service provider in Nepal
Following an order signed by the Minister of the Interior Agnė Bilotaitė, foreigners will no longer be able to apply for temporary residence permits at an external service provider in Nepal from 2 September.
Those foreigners who have submitted their applications to the branch before 2 September will be able to book their visits until the end of this year, 31 December, and will be able to collect the documents produced at the external service provider's branch in Nepal also after 1 January 2025.
You can apply for temporary residence permits and national visas in Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Canada, Sao Tome and Principe, Israel, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Moldova, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Uzbekistan and Venezuela.
VFS Global, an external service provider, also has a branch in India, but not all temporary residence permits can be applied for here.
In India, foreigners can apply if they plan to come to Lithuania on the basis of family reunification, if they intend to work in a highly skilled job, or if they are invited to study in our country's research and study institutions under approved study programmes, including doctoral studies. You can also apply if you are being transferred within a company or if you intend to come to our country as a lecturer or researcher under an employment contract with a research and study institution.
The list of external service providers is approved by the Minister of the Interior, as provided for in the Description of the Procedure for Issuing Temporary Residence Permits to Foreigners in the Republic of Lithuania. The number of persons to be serviced in foreign countries is also coordinated with the Ministry of the Interior.
