Starting from the 1st of September Migration Department will introduce new electronic services related to the acquisition of citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania. Clients will be able to submit e. applications for the acquisition of citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, taking the oath of allegiance to the Republic of Lithuania, issuance of certificates confirming the Lithuanian descent or the right to reinstate citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania, as well as to solve citizenship related issues for children and other issues in a quick and convenient way through Lithuanian Migration Information System (MIGRIS) at www.migracija.lt. For convenience of customers, 32 unique application forms and service wizard made available in Lithuanian and English.

Please note that when providing e. application through MIGRIS, clients will have to book a visit to the Migration Department and arrive at the territorial office at the chosen time. Upon arrival at the Migration Department the client must bring all the original documents, the copies of which were attached to e. application.

The Migration Department hereby informs that e. application must be completed by the person applying, whereas the original documents could be submitted by an authorized person or other representative indicated in e. application during the visit to the territorial office of the Migration Department.

During September, possibility of submitting applications for citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania under the previously valid procedure, i. e. by submitting a paper application and necessary documents, will remain. In this case, the clients are requested to book the visit in the usual way at www.migracija.lt.

Persons wishing to submit an application and documents related to the citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania through the consular offices of the Republic of Lithuania, during September will be able to submit only a paper application and documents.
