As of 22 October 2025, the list of foreign countries where foreigners can apply for temporary residence permits or national visas through the units of external service provider is being changed. The units of the external service provider in Albania, Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, Tajikistan and Venezuela are closed as of the date indicated. At the same time, units of the external service provider will be opened in new countries - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ghana, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. The new unit in Mongolia will start operating earlier, from 1 July 2025.

A foreigner may submit an application for a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania or a national visa in a foreign country not included in the list if, after agreement with the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of the Republic of Lithuania or its authorised institution acts as an intermediary for such a foreigner.

The list of units operating in foreign countries has been changed, taking into account the needs expressed by employers, higher education institutions and other social groups during public consultations, as well as the conclusions of the relevant official institutions.
