4. Subparagraph 3 Of Paragraph 1 Of Article 101

A citizen of an EU Member State, when (s)he is a student, pupil, intern, participant in in-service training or vocational training courses, is in possession of adequate means of subsistence for himself/herself and for his/her family members, where the family members arrive together with him/her or join him/her, for residence in the Republic of Lithuania and has a valid document evidencing possession of medical insurance (subparagraph 3 of paragraph 1 of Article 101 of the Law), must submit:

  1. a valid passport of an EU citizen or an identity card (the data must be verified against the EU citizen’s data indicated in the application);
  2. the documents confirming the ground for the issuance of the certificate:
    •  a document confirming that EU citizen has been admitted to a higher education institution; or
       
    • a document confirming that (s)he has been enrolled as a student at an educational establishment; or
       
    • a letter of mediation of the host (inviting) legal person of the Republic of Lithuania confirming his/her internship in the Republic of Lithuania, and where (s)he is sent to the Republic of Lithuania by an enterprise, agency or organisation – a letter of this enterprise, agency or organisation confirming his/her internship in the Republic of Lithuania; or
       
    • a document confirming that (s)he has been invited to participate in in-service training or vocational training courses;
       
    • a document confirming that the EU citizen is in possession of adequate means of subsistence for himself/herself and for his/her family members or another person, where the family members arrive together with him/her or join him/her, for residence in the Republic of Lithuania;
       
    • a valid document confirming possession of medical insurance.

The copies of documents attached to the application must be certified in accordance to the procedure established by legal acts, the documents issued by foreign institutions must be legalised or certified by a note (apostille) in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts, with the exception of the cases when, according to treaties of the Republic of Lithuania or legal acts of the European Union, a document does not need to be legalised or certified with such note, it must be translated into Lithuanian, and the translations must be certified in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts.

Prior to lodging the application, the state fee in the amount of 8,60 EUR for the issuance of the certificate must be paid (there are no state fees for replacement of a certificate)
