Travel document of a refugee

A refugee who has been granted a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania can been issued with the travel document under his/ her request if there are no reasons preventing from issuance of this document.

The travel document grants the right to a refugee to travel outside the territory of the Republic of Lithuania and return to it during the document’s validity period if there are no serious reasons related to the state security or public order violation.

The refugee travel document is issued or its a validity period is extended by a Migration service at the town or district police commissariat of a refugee’s residence place.

The refugee travel document is issued to a refugee despite his/ her age.

A person under 18 years of age is issued with the travel document under the consent of one of his/ her parents or of a legal guardian.

A consular fee for issuance of the refugee travel document is charged.

An alien may submit a report about a lost refugee travel document online, by connecting to the Information system of public services related to the issuance of identity and other documents, consulting, provided for the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania and aliens (https://epis.vrm.lt).
