A legal entity‘s application for the confirmation of the invitation letter

A legal entity shall submit a standard form application for the confirmation of the invitation letter to the Migration Service, in the service territory of which the place of registration or residence of this legal entity is.

A legal entity can fill in and submit an established form of an application to confirm an invitation having lodged in to the Information system of public services related to the issuance of identity and other documents, consulting, provided for the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania and aliens (https://epis.vrm.lt)

A legal entity must pay  the State duty of 4,90 EUR for the confirmation of the invitation letter.

The head of the legal entity or a representative authorized by him shall submit:

  • a legal entity‘s established form application for confirmation of the invitation letter (.doc, .pdf);   
     
  • a valid personal document (a personal identity card, a passport, a passport of the citizen of the Republic of Lithuania, a permit of a long-term resident of the Republic of Lithuania to reside in the European Community, a residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania of a family member of the citizen of an European Union Member State, a permit card of a family member of a citizen of the Union to reside in the country or a travel document). After reconciling the personal data of the natural person, and after assuring of his identity, an authorized public servant of the Migration Service shall return the personal document to this person;
     
  • the documents certifying the assumed obligations (the consent certified by the signature of the owner (co-owner)  of the accommodation where an alien will be accommodated, or the person authorized by him that the alien will stay in the accommodation which belongs to the owner (co-owner) by the ownership right, or the document issued by the accommodation provider confirming that the alien will be accommodated, etc.);
     
  • an authorized representative – the documents certifying the representation and employment relations with this legal entity or that he is a participant of this legal entity as well.

An authorized public servant of the Migration Service has the right to require additional documents, certifying the data indicated in the legal entity‘s application for the confirmation of the invitation letter (for example, an alien‘s aim of the entry or the relationship between the legal entity who invites the alien and the alien who is invited).

It is desirable to submit a copy of the alien‘s travel document page with the recorded personal data. At present an invitation letter is confirmed by electronic means, therefore the alien‘s data must be recorded accurately in the invitation letter, in order to avoid problems in embassies or consular offices when issuing a Schengen visa to an alien.

The invitation letter is confirmed within 3 working days from the date of the submission of a legal entity‘s application for the confirmation of the invitation letter and all the other duly formalized documents. In certain cases, when there are doubts if the data provided in the legal entity‘s application for the confirmation of the invitation letter coincides with the reality, and there is a need of additional inspection, an authorized public servant of the Migration Service can extend the period of taking the decision of the confirmation of the invitation letter up to 7 days and verbally inform the legal entity about it.

The number of the confirmed electronic invitation shall be verbally notified to the legal entity. An alien shall indicate this number to the Lithuanian visa office abroad. If the alien applies concerning the issuance of the Schengen visa to the diplomatic agency or consular office abroad of another Schengen State representing the Republic of Lithuania, the invitation letter shall be formalized by completing an invitation letter of the established form, this invitation letter shall be given to the legal entity who invites the alien. The applicant of the Schengen visa shall submit the confirmed invitation letter to the diplomatic mission or consular post abroad of another Schengen State representing the Republic of Lithuania.

Notes:

The legal entity must be registered in the Register of Legal Entities.

The head of the legal entity or a representative authorized by him shall sign the legal entity‘s application for the confirmation of the invitation letter and shall submit it to the Migration Service.

Number of days of staying in the Republic of Lithuania indicated in the alien‘s application cannot exceed 90 days and must accord with the indicated reasonable purpose of the visit.

The departure date of the alien who is invited, indicated in the legal entity’s application for the confirmation of the invitation letter, submitted by the inviter who is in possession of a valid temporary permit for residence in the Republic of Lithuania, cannot be later than the expiry date of the inviter’s temporary permit for residence in the Republic of Lithuania.
